Albaicin walking tour and Sacromonte

Discover fascinating, exotic Granada in two different walks around the historic centre and the Albaicin quarter. Then relax over a beer and some delectable traditional tapas in two of Granada's most typical restaurants. In both walks you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide who will share fascinating stories and anecdotes about the places and different landmarks we visit as well as plenty of insider information about the different places to eat and drink in this vibrant, fascinating city. The Albaicin is one of the most charming and beautiful quarters of Granada. This World Heritage Site retains the narrow winding streets and whitewashed houses of its Moorish past. The oldest part dates back to the 11th Century with later constructions added by the Almohad and Nazrid dynasties. The area rises on a hill facing the Alhambra and you can enjoy spectacular views over the palace complex from the viewpoint near the Church of San Nicolas. Other highlights include the remains of a Arab bath complex and the Church of San Salvador, erected on the site of a Moorish mosque. The neighbourhood also contains a wide range of restaurants and eateries inspired by North African style and cuisine. To continue we will visit Sacromonte, a reputable place where there were caves inhabited by gypsies and where you can see their art by flamenco shows.
