All Provence in one day

Provence has become a byword for perfection, a sunny, colourful and fragrant Utopia where you can escape from it all. This full-day sightseeing excursion will bring you into the heart of the region to some of its most beautiful villages and landmarks. Your adventure begins on the road to the Pont du Gard, one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world. Standing 50 metres tall over the River Gardon, this Unesco World Heritage Site has withstood the ravages of time for almost 2,000 years. Have your camera at the ready for the next stop, the hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence. You will wander its winding streets of medieval houses and many Romanesque and Renaissance buildings. We’ll also stop at the beautiful town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, where you will see the ruins of the Roman triumphal arch and mausoleum. St-Remy was immortalised in Van Gogh’s painting, The Starry Night. Then it’s on to the lush Luberon valley, passing olive groves and vineyards. We’ll stop at Roussillon, a village famed for its ochre cliffs and unusual natural landscape. Soon we’ll reach Gordes, a hilltop village considered by many to be the most beautiful in France. Between June 15 and July 15, you can admire the blooming lavender fields from Senanque Abbey. A sight that’s the essence of Provence. There’s a visit to the Lavender Museum (except in January) and in July and August you can watch the distillation process. On Sundays, the tour visits L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a village renowned for its antique shops. The order of visits depends on which village is hosting its weekly market: Gordes on Tuesday; St-Remy on Wednesday; Roussillon on Thursday; and in L’Isle on Sunday. Departs at 9am in high season and 7am in low season, with excursions lasting about 10 hours. Lunch is not included. Tour offered in French, English and, upon request, Spanish.
