Holidays to Boston

A modern city with a rich history, Boston has everything you need for that American adventure. One of the oldest settlements in America, Boston played a fundamental role in the American Revolution. Visit famous sites of the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Bunker Hill for a bit of history, or if you prefer the world of sports take in a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

SHOPPING – Prestigious department stores sit among imaginative boutiques; check out the glass enclosed arcades at Copley Place, Prudential Centre and Cambridge Side Galleria. If you like to stroll and browse then open-air Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Legacy Place and Patriot place are worth visiting. Designer and outlet shopping is within easy reach at Assemble Row in Somerville or Wrentham Premium Outlets.

ACTIVITIES – Take in a comedy show or a culture night at one of the many theatres. There are plenty of free walking tours covering Boston Common and the Freedom Trail. Ride the swan boats in the public parks lagoon. Back in the 1600’s Boston was one of the biggest trade centres in the US and shipments were made via Tall ships which are still found in Boston harbour.

DINING OUT – New England cuisine is one that is comforting, flavourful and unique to the area. It has many regional foods that are rooted in history. Cod, cranberries, clam chowder, apples, Boston baked beans and cream pie. Contemporary cuisine, and traditional New England fare with a twist, and with a mix of international and ethnic dishes make for unparalleled dining. Sip fine wines and locally brewed craft beers. The restaurant scene here is dynamic and delicious.

SPORT – A trip to Boston wouldn’t be the same without a trip to Fenway Park to see the 8 times world champions the Boston Red Sox, grab a beer and a hot dog or Yankee lobster roll, as you become a Boston native and roar with the crowd.

NEARBY – The State of New England - Connecticut (163 kms to Hartford) or New Hampshire (109 kms) depending on the time of your visit see the incredible “leaf peeping” season where the trees turn from green, to yellow to orange and eventually crimson red.
