When visiting Florida you can’t miss a trip to the Everglades- its a long haul for a day trip as it takes 4.5 hours to get there but it can be done. Better to try and arrange an overnight to take full use of the airboat. This is, after all the largest subtropical wilderness in the US – Watch out for the rare and endangered species of the manatee, crocodile and elusive Florida panther.
Florida weather is hot and humid during the summer, winters are mild but it can get a bit chilly in the evenings. Cocoa beach is the “local” beach but within 2 hours drive you have Daytona, Clearwater, New Smyrna (renowned for surfing) and Canaveral among others.
