Giants Causeway Day Tour from Dublin

  • The Dark Hedges
  • Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
  • The Giant’s Causeway
  • Dunluce Castle

Join us on our uniquely structured tour to one of Ireland’s 7 wonders, which is also one of the most northern points in all of Ireland. As we drive along the eastern coastline, you will have the opportunity to learn about some of Ireland's turbulent history while enjoying views of this beautiful underestimated coastline.

The Giants Causeway is listed as Ireland’s very first World Heritage site and is only one of the many reasons why you honestly can’t pass up this opportune chance of joining us for such an insightful experience! Our guides are fully equipped with fun-loving humour, wisdom and of course, charm which will keep you coming back for more exciting adventures!

Take in the genuine beauty of the causeways while exploring the various stone formations and crevices that are fully engulfed with fascinating history as well as mysterious Irish folklore.

Now, the only question is can you look fear in the eye by courageously crossing the legendary “Carrick-a-Rede” rope bridge for which the price is conveniently included! Better yet, take a refreshing stroll down to the charming beachfront sweeping out onto Whitepark bay and Portbradden. It will truly leave you in awe.

The series "the Game of Thrones" has developed a great interest in certain locations in Northern Ireland. You get to experience two fantastic locations "the Dark Hedges" and views of Dunluce Castle as part of our Giants causeway tour.

When you’ve Booked: You’ll receive an initial confirmation from us immediately. We will then send your booking details to the supplier to confirm the availability. Within 48 hours, once they confirm that your requested date/ticket is available we will email your confirmation which will include the local operator’s contact details and any further information.

Departure takes place outside the old stone church located on Suffolk Street (map is available on the booking page). From there, the bus will head north out of Dublin city towards Belfast.

Our First stop of the day is the Dark Hedges. This fantastic stretch of road was planted with Beech trees by James Stuart in the 1700s. The intertwining trees create an amazing spectacle and were featured in the Game of thrones. Click for more details on the Dark hedges.

We arrive at the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge where we will spend an hour. The bridge is a 20 minute walk from the car park giving you the chance to enjoy the Irish country side and build up your nerve for crossing the bridge. The rope bridge is run by the national trust and your fee for crossing is included in the price of the tour. The views from the bridge and sheep island are spectacular and a highlight of many of our clients' day.

We move on towards the Giants Causeway passing through the picturesque village of Ballintroy. Giants Causeway, the highlight of the day, is where we spend at least an hour and a half exploring this spectacular feature. We recommend you walk the top cliffs on your way to the causeway as this affords the best views. Your guide will take you to a local bar or cafe for lunch (not included in price) or you can enjoy a packed lunch taking in the scenery.

Time to head towards the grand city of Belfast. We make a quick photostop at Dunluce Castle, the most romantic castle in all of Ireland, which was home to the McDonnell Clan for many years. Not to mention that the Dunluce Castle has been referred to as the primary inspiration for CS Lewis’s fictional castle “Clair Paravel” which was established in her popular series, “The Chronicles of Narnia.“ In addition, we’ll be passing through the spirited town of Bushmills where Ireland’s very first hydro power plant was originally built as well as being the proud makers of a wonderful brand of whiskey!

Once we’ve arrived at the notable city of Belfast, you’ll be allotted an hour and a half or so to go about sightseeing at your own convenience. We recommend visiting the main shopping district for souvenirs, the historic Titanic Quarter and the Belfast City Hall. Another option is to do the Black Taxi tour, let your guide know in advance of reaching Belfast and he will have a Taxi waiting for you.

To finish off, we’ll arrive back in Dublin to reminisce about all of the exciting highlights!
