Situated 20km north of Budapest, the Hungarian Grand Prix gives you a great opportunity to visit one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The Hungaroring was built in 1986, and features short straights with several serves of corners, and is often likened to a go kart track. Great news for spectators is that it’s built in a natural bowl, giving views across more than 50 percent of the track from most vantage points.

It can be very hot for the weekend of the Hungarian Grand Prix, so make sure to plan for the heat, and if you do get too hot, make sure to visit the waterpark at the track where you can cool off! If you’re planning to stay longer, here is plenty to do in Budapest to keep you busy for a week, with activities spread all over the city. Highlights include the Thermal Baths, Castle Hill and Heroes Square.

You’ll find a wide range of hotel options from budget hostels to luxury boutique hotels. Generally, the closer to the river you stay the more expensive your accommodation, so head further into the city for the most affordable options. For international cuisine, head to the Pest side of the river.
