Things to do in Benidorm
There’s a lot to see and do in Benidorm and it’s full of surprises. Venture across the water to Benidorm Island, a symbol of the area with mythic connotations. Sports lovers will find plenty to keep them happy, too. Go for a round of golf or take to the seas for some water sports. Escape the skyscrapers with a day trip to some of the top destinations near the Costa Blanca. The nearby coastal town of Altea is a charming jumble of white buildings on a hilltop with a historic town. Guadalest is a spectacular cliff-top town like something from a bygone era and Alicante is a great day trip too. Get away from the urban flavour of the main area with a hike to Sierra Helada and its rocky coastal park.
The Other Side of Benidorm
Beyond the beach and the resort lies a place full of history and surprising cultural quirks. The area has quite a rich history. The old town is a well-preserved remnant of Benidorm’s past identity as a small fishing village. Sample some authentic local food and see sights like San Jaime Church. Tapas Alley is a street entirely composed of tapas restaurants and the Aurerra is a great place to find some delectable cuisine. The Old Town is also a great place to do some shopping. The Placa del Castell’s chessboard tiles are striking, as is the history of this area which was once the site of a castle. Now you can go down to a popular viewing platform called the Balcón del Mediterráneo. And why not see the spectacular rock formations of the Canelobre Caves, guided tours are informative and fun.
Nightlife & Food

People come for here for a good time and it really shows in the resort’s massive range of pubs, clubs and bars where you can find holidaymakers partying till the wee hours.
