Things to do in Fuerteventura
There are so many things to see in Fuerteventura. That’s why it gets so many repeat visitors. Whether you prefer to explore nature, get culture or simply relax, you’ll find something to suit you and your family with the range of activities. For culture, try the Casa de los Coroneles, a lovingly restored 18th century building converted into a stunning museum. For natural beauty, you can’t go better than the National Park in Corralejo. Its geological landforms are something to behold. And take in the sights from the Mirador Astronómico de Sicasumbre, a viewing station offering incredible views of the island. In short, you’ll find everything you can think of, from entertainment to watersports to all kinds of outdoor fun.
Dining Out
Like the other Canary Islands, Fuerteventura offers a wide range of cuisine with a few of its own culinary twists. If your holidays in Fuerteventura are based in one of the resorts, an all-inclusive option is sure to come with familiar fare to please picky kids! Thanks to its great year-round weather, you have the flexibility to go whenever suits you. And once you great there, there’s so much to see and do. Hit the beach and bring those buckets and spades, then enjoy the natural beauty in a fun way with a camel ride around the national park. Oasis Park is worth checking out, seeing all the amazing animals in a stunning setting you can spend the whole day in. Acua Park is the island’s main water park, in Corralejo on the north side of the island. Spend the time shooting down its slides and splashing around in the pools.
Best Beaches in Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura boasts mile after mile of idyllic beach. From urban beaches beloved by locals, to endless sandy stretches popular with tourists and quieter coves in less well-known areas, there are plenty of places to lounge, relax and build sandcastles. One of the most popular beaches in Sotavento Beach near Costa Calma. Its shallow waters are great for splashing around in. Corralejo Beach is near the resort of the same name. It’s several miles long and split into different sections, so head towards the family-friendly section. Fuerteventura also has four Blue Flag beaches as of 2019: Playa Blanca near Puerto del Rosario, Puerto Lajas, a black-pebble beach with calm waters, Los Pozos also near the capital, and Tarajalejo Beach in that small fishing village.
