Temperature

The Algarve is the best summer destination where the weather is hot throughout May to late October. Summer months reaching up to 30°C and winter months decreasing to 10°C. Even during the winter months you’ll still be able to enjoy the cool weather and your holiday, whether it’s hiking, cycling or taking long walks at the small tourist towns.

When to go 

The best time to visit the Algarve is in September and October when the weather is still hot, the ocean is relatively warm and there are less crowded beaches. If you’d like to spend Christmas in the Algarve, there is still a chance you’ll get to see some clear blue skies and sun all while relaxing on your favourite resort or doing some shopping, the choice is yours!

Dining Out

You can find all types of cuisine throughout the Algarve. The Algarve is best known for their Piri Piri Chicken which was invented in the little town of Guia in the Algarve. Another delicacy is the Pasteis Nata which is a custard tart, where every restaurant competes for the best title of making it! There are plenty of places to eat in the Algarve from beach shacks specialising in local freshly caught seafood to high rated restaurants. Seafood is popular as the Algarve is situated near the Ocean and small local fish villages and you can expect beautiful seafood delicacies in the Algarve. Don’t worry there’s plenty of international cuisine and takeaways too around every corner to make sure you get the best experience of trying out various foods. Activities

The Algarve has plenty of attractions to explore such as the popular Benagil cave and boat tours along the coast with yellow-esque cliffs! Take out a boat to see the dolphins. Visit the Old Town of Faro which is surrounded by a medieval stone wall and filled with Roman ruins or you can shop till’ you drop at the Forum Algarve shopping centre. Take a trip down to Cape St.Vincent, an iconic lighthouse which is a landmark and a must-see attraction in the Algarve surrounded only by cliffs and the ocean. Take a splash at the Zoomarine Algarve a marine-themed amusement park that’s a perfect attraction for the whole family with water slides to dolphin shows.Try out some water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing or the banana boat!

For Couples

Relax on one of the many beaches you’ll find along the coast. The Algarve is brimming with nightclubs, pubs and cheap drinks so that you can party till’ the morning. In Albufeira, “The Strip”, is the place to be on a night out. Take a romantic boat tour to watch the sunset. Visit the Algarve’s hidden caves or learn how to cook Portuguese food at a culinary class! Escape to the city of Faro and explore the old streets of Faro Old Town. Is sky the limit? Try parasailing with your partner and watch the views above and below your feet that will leave you mesmerised! 

For Family

There is plenty of fun to be had in the Algarve! Spend your days at one of the many beaches in Algarve making sandcastles and relaxing under the sun. Take a trip down to the zoo in Lagos, where you’ll see over 150 animal species and you’ll get a chance to feed some animals! You will love the parks Algarve has to offer such as the Aqualand water park - where you can splash around all day in the pools and slide down the slides or the Zoomarine - where dolphins put on a show for you to enjoy and plenty of water activities for you to explore! If that’s not enough, there’s always time to go on a boat tour and catch a dolphin spot where you’ll watch dolphins in their natural habitat or the see Benagil cave.
