Bolombolo and Antioquia Garden - Full-Day Tour

One of the most beautiful towns in Colombia is waiting for you with open doors, inviting you to enjoy its dreamy landscapes, full of magic, color, gastronomy, and, of course, the unmistakable aroma of coffee. In this excursion, we will venture into the "Heart of the Southwest of Antioquia," visiting the charming municipality of Hispania, proud of its towering Saman trees, and exploring the colonial gem of Jardín. A journey that will take you through the most captivating landscapes and the deepest traditions of Colombia’s coffee region.

Our adventure begins in Bolombolo, a picturesque and peaceful town located on the banks of the majestic Cauca River. Here, you will not only be dazzled by the natural beauty surrounding the town but also have the chance to taste some of its most representative culinary delights, such as the traditional chicken pastries and the exquisite fish cake, both a must-try for local food lovers. Bolombolo is also a natural paradise, framed by lush maracuya and citrus plantations, which contrast beautifully with the grandeur of the Cauca River. The tranquility of its landscapes invites visitors to explore and enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and observing the region’s flora and fauna.

From Bolombolo, we head toward Hispania, a small municipality known for the impressive presence of the Saman trees, gigantic trees that dominate the landscape and have become emblems of the region. Here, we’ll share the story of this picturesque town while showing you these trees that seem to guard the town’s destiny. You’ll also have the opportunity to savor a cup of Colombian coffee, world-famous for its unique flavor, while enjoying the natural surroundings of Hispania. And for coffee lovers, we invite you to take a photo next to the figure of Juan Valdés, the most iconic symbol of coffee in Colombia.

After leaving Hispania behind, we continue our journey towards Jardín, a town considered a National Heritage site of Colombia, while we take a scenic tour through the municipality of Andes, known for its green mountains and the beauty surrounding its coffee farms. Along the way, we’ll visit a well-known trout farm in the area, where you’ll learn about the trout production process, from breeding to fishing. This experience will be a delight for nature enthusiasts.

Once we reach Jardín, we’ll immerse ourselves in its main square, where the colonial architecture, with its flower-filled balconies and cobblestone streets, will transport us to another era. This town, with its charming beauty, is considered one of the most emblematic destinations in Antioquia. Among its architectural wonders is the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, a National Monument since 1980. Built with stone from nearby quarries, this church is a clear example of the art and devotion of the region.

Our next stop will be Café Macanas, a place that will surprise you with its vertical gardens and cozy atmosphere. Here, you can enjoy a delicious cup of Colombian coffee, accompanied by pastries and typical dishes from the region. It’s the perfect spot to relax and savor the best of the local gastronomy. After a nice break, we will take a special ride aboard the famous "Gusanito" of Jardín, a small vehicle with several wagons that will allow you to tour the picturesque cobbled streets of the town, while you delight in the beauty of its architecture and landscapes.

The House of Sweets will be our next stop, a traditional factory located in a republican-style house, built with mud and bareque. Here, you can enjoy a variety of artisanal sweets like jellies, gelatin desserts, and milk panelitas. Each of these products is a showcase of the rich sweet tradition that characterizes the region. Then, we’ll explore the Ecological Trail “Camino de La Herrera,” an old cobbled path that will lead us to the beautiful Charco Corazón. This trail is truly a journey through time, as it follows the footsteps of the ancient muleteers who once traveled these royal roads. Along the way, you will see a wide variety of flora and fauna.

At the end of our tour through Jardín, you will have free time to enjoy at your own pace everything this charming town has to offer. You can buy special coffee, local crafts, and other typical products of the region while enjoying the warmth of its people and the serenity of its surroundings.
