At the southwestern end of the bay, you'll uncover Los Haitises National Park, a natural sanctuary where the richness of this natural spectacle unfolds in all its splendor. This park, whose name means ""high land"" in the language of the ancient Taíno people, covers 1,600 km2 and is part of an ancient karst system, with a diversity of maritime and terrestrial ecosystems.
The Haitises National Park is our next destination on the map, an area where the sea, mangroves, jungles, and even archaeological remains hidden in caves, reveal all the natural charm that the country offers. Its small hills full of vegetation are also the perfect place for bird watching that you will only find here.
Experience the wonder of this natural amusement park, from estuaries and bays to conical rock formations called mogotes. Dive into caves that house the country's largest collection of rock paintings, an invaluable testimony to ancient pre-Columbian cultures.
