We depart early from Quito towards the picturesque town of Baños de Agua Santa, known as the “Gateway to the Amazon” and famous for its stunning mountain landscapes, impressive waterfalls, and relaxed atmosphere. Along the way, we will pass charming Andean villages and lush valleys until we reach this delightful destination, nestled among mountains at the foot of the majestic Tungurahua volcano.
Our experience begins with a drive along the Waterfall Route, stopping at scenic viewpoints to admire and photograph waterfalls such as Agoyán and the famous Pailón del Diablo, where we can take a short hike to feel the power of the water up close. We will also have the chance to cross a suspension bridge or ride a cable car (“tarabita”) for a different perspective of the falls.
Back in Baños, we will enjoy free time to explore the town center, visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Agua Santa, and taste traditional sweets and local handicrafts. Depending on available time, we may visit viewpoints such as La Casa del Árbol, famous for its “Swing at the End of the World,” offering spectacular valley views.
A tour that combines nature, adventure, and culture—ideal for travelers who want to discover one of Ecuador’s most charming destinations in a single day.
