1,700 m above the city and a breathtaking 360° view of Innsbruck and the Inn valley on one side and the Karwendel Nature Park on the other will leave you with lasting impressions. In just a few minutes, the Innsbruck Nordkettenbahn cable car takes you directly from Innsbruck's old town to Austria's largest nature park!
Thanks to the modern Hungerburgbahn, you can get directly from the old town to the Hungerburg in just eight minutes, alighting at the Alpenzoo, which is particularly popular with families. Once there, it's just a few steps across the Hermann-Buhl-Platz to the Seegrube, where daredevil athletes catch the eye in summer and winter alike.
The rocks of the Karwendel have always attracted numerous climbing enthusiasts, as the Nordkette was the training ground of the world-famous Austrian alpinist Hermann Buhl. The Nordkette Perspective Trail, which has won several awards for its architecture, invites you to linger on the Seegrube with various elements and platforms with a view over the Inn Valley.
The impressive experience at the viewing point, the 2300m high Hafelekar, is within everyone's reach thanks to the direct connection to the city. Various well-developed hiking routes invite you to explore the high alpine terrain. Nature lovers get their money's worth in the adjacent Karwendel Nature Park with over 3000 animal species and more than 1305 different plant species. It is not uncommon for guests to catch a glimpse of the otherwise shy wild animals on the Nordkette
