Day 1 - Airport collection
Passengers will be greeted at the airport exit by one of our representatives, who will carry the ID badge with the name of the main guest on the reservation. Transportation will be provided in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Day 2 - Pablo Escobar and The New Medellín Tour
We will pick you up from your accommodation. The tour has been designed to take you back in history and experience the remarkable transformation the city has achieved in the decades since the capture of drug lord Pablo Escobar. See for yourself the opulence and learn about the details of that era and the most representative places associated with the most notorious capo of all time. From his home to his final resting place, where he now lies in peace, this tour will take you on a journey showcasing his impact on the city.
Above all, the tour emphasises the city’s evolution from being the most violent in the world to the most innovative. Learn from the real experience of a local about the dark past that overshadowed the city and witness a new Medellín that has even been recognised as one of the most resilient cities by the Rockefeller Foundation.
The tour continues to the El Poblado neighbourhood, where you’ll see the most luxurious properties and even visit the drug lord’s private penthouse, where he initially hid his money and was targeted in attacks. The visit includes a stop at “La Catedral,” which was the capo’s private prison before he began a frantic escape that ended with his death in December 1993.
To better understand his pursuit, the tour proceeds to the stadium area, where the drug lord was finally captured on a nearby rooftop. Suicide or government victory? You can draw your own conclusions.
Finally, the tour heads to the private cemetery where Pablo rests. Walk around the final resting place of “El Patrón” and his family, including Griselda Blanco, who was Pablo’s mentor in his early years.
At the end, your guide will take you back to your hotel, Airbnb, or any other destination you indicate.
