• Day 1: Snowmobile Experience, Husky and Reindeer Visit and Northern Lights Search by minibus
On your first day you will be picked up in Rovaniemi. Our guides will provide winter clothing and snowmobile training before taking off on a one hour long snowmobile adventure through Arctic Circle forests. After the snowmobile journey, visit the husky and reindeer farm, where you can enjoy a 500m ride on your own reindeer sledge and receive a reindeer sledge driver’s license. Next, make your way to the Alaskan Huskies and experience them in action on an 800m long sleigh ride. Listen to the local reindeer herders as they tell you more about the herding lifestyle and how it is to be a reindeer herder in the 21st century. Around 4pm you will be driven home to have some rest before departure in the search of the Northern Lights by minibus. The search will take about 2-hours and the guides will target the best spots in the Arctic Circle area. Drop-off is included and guides will drive you home afterwards.
• Day 2: Polar Bears and Arctic Animals
On your second day, early morning, around 9:30am, guides will pick you up and start the journey to Ranua village, where you will visit the Wildlife Park. Ranua Wildlife Park is the northernmost zoo in the world. This Arctic zoo is unique not only for its location but also for its local animals that call this region their home. You will be able to see the Polar Bears among other 50 arctic species! The zoo is perfect for getting to know native arctic fauna immersing yourself ina 2.5km walk through the enchanting snowy forest. Before returning to Rovaniemi, take some time for lunch, indulge in snacks, and explore souvenir shopping opportunities
Important information
Please remember to bring an original and valid driving licence (not a copy). Two people per snowmobile on a shared basis.
Groups of 3 or more must purchase a single driver supplement from the supplier. The snowmobile driver is responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle. Personal liability is max. 1000 euros per person/per snowmobile in the event of an accident. By taking out a 20 euros personal liability insurance before the start of the tour, you can reduce your personal liability to max. 200 euros per person/per snowmobile in the event of an accident. The insurance is personal and valid for one snowmobile experience.
