As the cultural root of Shanghai, Songjiang preserves brilliant and unique prehistoric, ancient and modern culturally significant features.
You will visit Guangfulin, an archaeological site over 5,000 years old, but built in 2009. The underwater part covers more than 9,000 square metres and presents the ancient local life and culture. The part above the water shows the discovery about the region.
Then visit the Shimao Wonderland, a stunning structure of the Intercontinental Hotel built on the site of an abandoned quarry. Lunch in the local residential area followed by a walk through Songjiang University Town, the largest higher education centre in mainland China.
Before returning to downtown Shanghai, visit Fangta Park, one of the first celebrations of traditional Chinese architecture after the Cultural Revolution, including the city's Square Pagoda and Mazu Temple.
