Wine day trip to Sancerre including more than 10 tastings & lunch

Spend an entire day in the Sancerre Region visiting one of France’s most renowned vineyards, taste and learn all about the amazing sub regions and terroirs.

This all-inclusive tour will make you fall in love with the beauty of Sancerre, a medieval town, enjoy the diversity of its wines and of the neighbor’s denomination, drive between the hillsides to see the panoramas.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and drive you (approx. 2h30) towards the Sancerre region while you enjoy delicious freshly baked croissants. Your wine-expert guide will lead you through the beautiful countryside, in the heart of the vineyards.

You’ll arrive at the first visit. Learn all the basics about Sancerre wine and the history of the region, so you can start the day with a lot of knowledge. You’ll be expert enough to know why the Terres Blanches, Calcaires and Silex terroirs are so different and what impact they have on the wine! Taste the first wines of the day and put into practice what you’ve just learned about the three Sancerre terroirs.

After this first visit, it’s time for lunch! But before that, you’ll have a chance to enjoy a magnificent view of the Sancerre vineyards and the hills full of grapes. This is the perfect time to learn about the process of viticulture.

After this fun time, you’ll arrive at a family-run winery where you’ll enjoy a traditional French lunch with local specialties such as the famous Crottin de Chavignol and a wine pairing! This will be the perfect moment to be transported into the winemaker’s world.

To dive into the authentic secrets of Sancerre visit an intimate and small vineyard. You’ll discover the vinification cellar, the barrel cellar, the storage cellar, and much more!

This is also the time to taste wines other than Sancerre, there are other beautiful appellations close by and many of Sancerre’s makers produce Pouilly-Fumé, Côteau-du-Giennois or Menetou-Salon. Even if they are very close to Sancerre, there wines are really different and interesting to taste!

Finally, your guide will take you safely back to Paris, with your head full of memories of this unforgettable day in the Sancerre region. You’ll be dropped off in Central Paris in the late afternoon.
