City Guide: Things to do in Seville

Seville is a fairytale destination. Its stunning architecture attracts huge visitor numbers each year. It’s served as a filming location for Star Wars and Game of Thrones, too. See our deals here.

Visit Magical Seville

The scent of orange blossom in the summer air, the winding cobbled streets, the intoxicating Moorish flourishes – Seville is a unique place. There’s no better destination for a city break, escaping for a few days to what feels like another time and place.

Seville boasts Roman ruins and Baroque churches at every turn, and an atmosphere all of its own. Flamenco clubs keep this quintessential Spanish tradition alive and well, and its medieval lanes are perfect for exploring at your leisure.

Getting there

Direct flights take about 3hrs, but most airlines only fly direct a couple of times a week. In likelihood, you might have to take a connecting flight, a transfer, or fold your trip to Seville into a longer Spain holiday.

Getting around

Seville is a compact, highly walkable city. So if you’re staying in the city centre, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting around. Public transport is also excellent and affordable. The tram and the Metro are the best options here.

Take in Incredible Views

Seville Cathedral

This awe-inspiring cathedral is a designated World Heritage site for good reason. Its design is one of a kind, with unique flourishes, elaborate touches and artistic flair. Visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

Real Alcázar

In a city with a long list of UNESCO sites, this is one of the most spectacular. This palace complex is still in use by the Spanish royal family. Its fusion Moorish-inspired architectural styles make it a once-off. Wander its courtyards, walks and gardens.

Plaza de Espana

One of Seville’s most famous sights. This plaza is overlooked by a fairytale palace, and is designed as a celebration of Spain’s various provinces.

Triana

A charming, colourful little neighbourhood, Triana epitomises everything that’s special about Seville’s heritage and culture.

Take a Day Trip

Seville is just a stone’s throw from some wonderful destinations, all well worth a visit.

  • Cadiz, a historic little city with beautiful coastline
  • Cordoba, the ancient Arab capital and a truly stunning destination
  • Ronda, a breathtaking cliff-top town
